  • SoKno Sculpt

    SoKno Sculpt

SoKno Sculpt is a local community organization empowering Knoxville sculptors with connections to commissions in the Old Sevier Neighborhood on the Tennessee River’s south side. Residents can apply for grants to install sculptures on their property with a specific juried artist or connect with an artist to commission a sculpture.
SoKno Sculpt needed a website to efficiently manage grant requests and showcase our talented local artists. The directors provided a clear vision for the project. I used WordPress to create a site that meets their needs.

  • Pivot Point

    Pivot Point

Pivot Point is a small gallery in Old North Knoxville, TN. Emory Place, a vibrant and growing community, was the cornerstone of this project. We aimed to build on this growth, and my focus was on creating a welcoming space online and in the gallery, a vision that we believe will continue to thrive.

As the gallery art assistant, I was entrusted with greeting visitors, keeping statistics, and managing inventory on the website and in the gallery. I also took charge of our social media presence on Instagram and Facebook. The owners specifically requested that I make the content more dynamic, a task I executed with precision and creativity.

The collection featured national, regional, and local art, and many local artists actively promoted the gallery. Their efforts were instrumental in the gallery’s success and formed the basis of my work, making them an integral part of our community.

  • Bill Cook Jr.

    Bill Cook Jr.

Bill Cook Jr. is a local sculptor in Knoxville, TN.

His collection required a specific taxonomy to highlight available items and present sold items.

Cook’s directive was to recreate an HTML site in WordPress, creating an environment he could manage. I designed the taxonomy for Bill that could automatically add content to his galleries by uploading to a specific folder.

  • Gunnar Quist

    Gunnar Quist

Gunnar is a local artist in Knoxville, TN.

Gunnars’ process is to create a digital representation of an image in pixels and paint it. He needed to move his site from Squarespace to WordPress, and his collection required the creation of an intricate taxonomy to display his images where he wanted them when he uploaded photos to the site.

  • Bruce Bennett Sculpture

    Bruce Bennett Sculpture

Bruce Bennett is a local sculptor in Knoxville, TN. Bennett is a long-standing member of Knoxville, TN’s creative community and a pioneer at Candoro Marble in Vestal. He’s sponsored collaborative works such as the One Ton show in UT Gardens and local installations. Originally from rural Arkansas, Bruce grew up working with wood, but Tennessee marble won his favor. His works include furniture, architectural elements, prestigious awards, decorative accents, and elegant sculpture. Now retired, this collection is a tribute to his lifetime of work.

In this project, I created an online presence, including a website, an online store, social media accounts, marketing materials, and communications. I actively sought retail spaces both online and physical.

  • Marble City Glassworks

    Marble City Glassworks

Marble City Glassworks was a local hot glass studio in Knoxville, TN. MCGW created high-quality functional art and sculpture and focused on providing experiences like hot glass classes, workshops, and group classes. My role was to create an online presence: a product catalog, a website, an Etsy store, social media, an event booking system, Square payments, and communications.

The studio’s soft start occurred before content management systems, so the original site was written in HTML. That time was spent setting up a client base and markets. The constituents in local arts programs were very generous in supporting the idea of an open glass studio in Knoxville. The studio grew quickly, and a self-booking system was the key to handling the volume.

The WordPress website brought communications to a new level by integrating a seamless booking system and client management.

    UT Libraries

The University of Tennessee Libraries is the hub of the Knoxville campus, bringing together research, instruction, community spaces, and everything you need to get your project done in one central location. It is vibrant and enriching, and I learn something new every day.

I worked at UT Libraries for 25 years and retired in January 2024. During my tenure, I had a wide range of responsibilities. I worked the research desk, performed literature reviews, made instruction appointments, coordinated events, wrote reports and newsletters, created posters and digital displays, designed and maintained websites, supervised students, managed facilities, and ran supply procurement. I also managed social media for Pendergrass Library from 2011 to 2015.

  • HBF Foods

    HBF Foods

HBF Foods is an organic egg product company based in Morristown, TN.

For HBF Foods, the task was to design an appealing temporary website. Using WordPress, following the style guide, and utilizing the stock images provided to create independent, interchangeable sections throughout the site. I employed taxonomy to populate pages, ensuring a seamless user experience, and added animations and banners to enhance the site’s visual appeal.
