Blah, blah, blogging

I’m not particularly verbose. So blogging is not really my thing. I’ve been thinking about things to write but haven’t started them, often talking myself out of writing because I think people won’t be interested or that what I write is silly or naive. What do people like to read about? Do bloggers write for themselves, or do they pick topics others are interested in?

My current project at work is to make a small contribution to locating the thousands of books missing from the library. As I scan the shelves for wayward titles, I come across many engaging and thought-provoking ideas that people took the time to write down and expand on. One of my interests is philosophy. While searching that section, I wondered how these individual, personal perspectives became cherished volumes of philosophy. These people were more astute, giving thoughtful reverence to fundamentals many others would not or could not.

The reality is that many thinkers are persecuted for their ideas. So I’ll keep writing when I have an observation or a remembrance. We’ll see how it goes.
